Story Wellness: A Beautiful Machine
My Non-Negotiable Morning Routine (How I’ve lost 8.4 inches and 4.4 lbs in less than a month.)
And so it goes…
I was discussing with my daughter the feelings of oppression we both feel this week. We aren’t being oppressed by people or demons or whatever. When we were in Colorado, she describes it felt so light and free. We come back to Texas and feel an oppression of heaviness all around us. I’m sure altitude has a lot to do with it - but theres just a vibe / energy in the community where we live that neither of us handle well. We both hate it and dream of moving away from here one day. I hate it because she really needs it; but I’m the type of person who stays and supports her mom in her community and I’m not leaving her behind. My daughter is counting the days she turns 18 and she can skip town. I don’t blame her and I hope she can make it work.
I was looking at a news report on a local news fb page and all of the negative and outright hateful comments on it. I saw a similar story on another news page for a station at one of the places we are considering moving one day and there were no unsupportive, discompassionate remarks - all were an outpouring of concern and condolences etc. Tells a story of the heavy vs light energy right there.
Something that’s on my mind as of late. Here are some pics from our recent trip:

Introducing Story Wellness: A Holistic Approach to Wellness Utilizing Story as the “Container”
I’m so proud of my progress.
In less than a month, I’ve gone from the most depressed and overweight I’ve been in my life to today. Am I aging backwards? How?
After years of struggling with menopause weight gain, I have finally found that magic combination that I credit with some great, affordable supplements and my non-negotiable morning routine. (Later Edit. . . it was only temporary - read updates in May 2025 to learn what I’m doing now and why.)
The Supplements are [deleted]
I wake up, make my bed, and I ….
Then, I get on the vibration plate for 10 minutes every day; and workout on the vibration plate.
Then, I walk 15 minutes on my treadmill - or when in Colorado - my walk was 30 minutes outside. I started with 10 minutes week 1, 12.5 minutes week 2, 15 minutes right now. But my goal - is to get on the treadmill every day. That’s it. Don’t even have to walk on it. Just get on it. for 90 days. Then, if I choose to walk - my minimum was 10 minutes. You can start with 5 - doable right? Or walk outside or at a park. Whatever you can do. Just move! [Edit: I got bored with the treadmill and just walking and now do a low impact, 20 minute Tabata workout.]
I drink a lot of water & [edit] now do something different.
I don’t check messages or social media or inbox until my morning routine is done.
So, that’s it. I feel amazing. If you want more energy and focus, I encourage you to design a morning routine that works best for you. I can help, please reach out.
