No. 1

This Week’s Prompt:

Most people are good. Describe an event when this was true.

Someone I never met (Jackie Mereness) - she was the preacher’s wife - led a group of women to visit me at home as I was recuperating at my parents home in my hometown from having a C-Section. I had experienced a crisis pregnancy and placed baby for adoption. I was suicidal. I had told no one. I had planned to end my life when this stranger and this group of ladies from my childhood church showed up to visit me and pray for me and show me they hadn’t shunned me or judged me as I expected.

This outpouring of love and grace and carried me through many years later to today. I’ve never forgotten it.
